How this test works
For ten seconds we read both sticks on every frame and measure how far each one sits from centre while nobody touches it. If a stick moves more than a third of its travel, you probably nudged it, so the test restarts. The result is the average distance (drift), the worst sample (peak) and how much the reading jitters (noise).
Drift vs deadzone
A deadzone is the zone around centre a game ignores. Most games use 5–10 %, which is why a 3 % drift goes unnoticed and a 7 % one steers your character on its own. The deadzone test shows the smallest value that hides what you measured here; the drift guide explains where the numbers come from and what to do about them.
