The TopDrive Reactor is simply one of the best PlayStation wheels available. It does not need a desktop to clamp to, does not require much space but does provide great control and feedback effects.

The Reactor also supports six different control modes (every one out there!). Supported are:

Dual Shock Digital mode

Dual Shock Analog mode

Namco JogCon Digital mode

Namco JogCon Analog mode

Namco NegCon Vibration mode

Namco NegCon Non-Vibration mode

The best feature of the Reactor is its ability to support jogging forces. These are the forces that play on the wheel as you turn. The sharper you turn the more resistance the wheel offers. The jogging forces can also be adjusted to a high or low setting in addition to being turned off (still offers centering force).

Another nifty feature is the button re-assignment option. For example, in its default configuration the Reactor button layout for Twisted Metal III is awkward at best. The fire button is inconveniently located as well as other feature buttons. No worry though- press the button you wish to use while holding the SET button. Then press the "soon to be old" button and it is now assigned to where you wish.

Steering sensitivity can be adjusted with a switch similar to the mode selection button. The sensitivity has 5 levels of adjustment that can be selected. Depending on the game you may wish to use this handy little feature to give you the right level of control.

Button layout of the Reactor includes a directional pad on the back of the unit with the 4 primary buttons surrounding it. L1, R1 and the Start button are located just above it. The Mode and Select buttons are located on the base with the L2, L3, R2 and R3 buttons. As I already mentioned the location of their function can be moved around.

The unit is typically held in your left hand with your right controlling the wheel. The wheel has a rubberized surface making it easy to grip. The primary buttons (and the D-pad) are controlled with your left thumb and within reach but the buttons on the base cannot be used unless you take your hand off the wheel. If there is a critical button function on the base you can move it to one of the upper buttons with the relocation feature.

The TopDrive Reactor is a great wheel. It allows more realistic control than a gamepad, supports all of the available controller modes and has some nice features- all in the palm of your hand.

Highly Recommended!
