The PS Challenger from Logic 3 is an affordable alternative to the Sony Dual Shock controller. It weighs in at nearly half the price of the Sony controller and has a few extra features the Sony does not. The PS Challenger adds turbo and slow motion buttons to the feature list. This, coupled with its great price make it an excellent choice as an add-on controller (you might even want to move the Sony controller that came with your system to the 2nd slot!).

The PS Challenger is slightly larger than the standard Sony Dual Shock controller. Its almost like its fatter sibling. The handles are a bit beefier, as is the body. The two analog sticks have a nice feel to them and have a recess that nicely accommodates your thumbs during use. The gamepad is an entire disk (opposed to the Dual Shock's 4 buttons) that is easy to control.

The PS Challenger performs well. With all of the games I used it with it offered good control. The slow motion features performed well in some games and poor in others. This is due to the games themselves and not the controller. The turbo feature was more useful. To enable turbo fire on a button simply hold down the turbo button while pressing the button. Until the process is repeated the button will auto repeat. Multiple buttons can have turbo assigned to them. I didn't find too much of an advantage to either feature but their nice to have (especially when it doesn't cost any more!). The layout of the buttons, pad and controllers is pretty standard. Everything is within reach and I had no problems with comfort.

The dual shock motors deliver effects on par with the Sony controller (again, at a much lower price). The matching performance, lower price and additional features over the Sony Dual Shock make the PS Challenger a highly recommended controller.

Highly recommended!
