With the advent of USB game controllers there are many "classic" joystick designs that have fallen by the wayside. Not so with the highly acclaimed F16 CombatStick from CH Products. The USB version has identical specifications as its gameport counterpart with the exception of the connection. You will need Windows 98/2000 to use the USB version. Also note that the Game Center programming utility does not currently function under Windows 98SE but this is being worked on and is not a big issue since most games offer in game button assignment.

The F16 is a big stick with a long throw. The range of the stick is much wider than most but the tension does not make you work too hard to use it. The throttle wheel is large and has a short throw. Accurately controlling it is not an issue but there is no centering indicator (detent or mark on the wheel). Button placement is good and each has a unique feel to it making it easier to keep your eyes on the screen.
