AVB VMouse part 2

Software:

The AVB VMouse can be used with a standard 3 button wheel mouse configuration. Since the mouse does not use a software driver for the effects. However, AVB provides "Mouse Center" software for use in a Windows environment. This software offers a test panel (see below) and configuration capabilities where you can adjust the mouse sensitivity, double click speeds and other standard settings. I had a Logitech Optical Mouse connected to the system prior to connecting the AVB VMouse and it worked with the Logitech drivers also.

As you can see from the screenshot of the test program there are a variety of effects to test. This is a good area to set the intensity of the mouse effects. On the front of the mouse to the side of the cable connection there is a "volume" wheel. This wheel can be adjusted to increase and decrease the intensity of the effects. For gameplay you may want it full tilt but for listening to music you probably want to switch it off so your mouse doesn't run away on you!

Operation:

The VMouse uses patent "SoundSensual" technology to deliver the effects. This means that the sound signals taken from the soundcard are translated by the circuitry in the mouse into a signal that is fed to the drive motor housed in the mouse casing. The motor has a small off-center counter weight mounted on it that vibrates the mouse when the motor is activated. The intensity, duration and speed of the counter weight makes a different effect depending on the sound input.

The AVB VMouse with its cover carefully removed to show the inner-workings of the unit.
